My Background

Hi, I'm Emma, a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist and also qualified for, Advanced Kinesiology Taping and Dry Cupping Therapy (Rockpods).

I've always been a sporty person, with gymnastics, horse-riding and running my main passions. My three children have also picked up the gymnastics 'bug', with the younger two training and my eldest now a coach. I am a British Gymnastics Level 2 Women's Artistic Coach and have coached gymnasts through county and regional competitions, with a particular interest in the fundamentals of movement, flexibility, combined with strength and conditioning training.

Inevitably, these young athletes (pre-elite) training up to 20 hours per week, encounter injuries with little remedial support until they reach a high enough national standard, or the injury becomes severe. This lack of support for young athletes, who are often pushing their bodies to physical extremes, whilst being coached and often rehabilitated by coaches who have little to no injury recovery/rehabilitation training, inspired me to pursue a change of direction and retrain as a sports massage therapist.
I do not limit my treatments to athletes and the ability to provide this to anyone experiencing aches, pains, strains and general discomfort, and to see so many positive results for so many people inspires me to continue to learn and gain valuable CPD in my specialised areas.
My Approach
It's easy to be misled into thinking Sports Massage is not beneficial to anyone other than a sports person, or the treatment has to be 'hard' or 'hurt' to be effective...
neither are true!

My approach is dedicated to treating each client to suit their individual needs, based on a thorough consultation.

The old saying of "no pain no gain" is not a philosophy I believe in and my methodology to treatments are given so as they should not inflict pain or cause any significant discomfort to a client.

The main treatment takes place during your session, however, I also look to provide an 'at home movement plan' that will support and positively aid the treatment received and your recovery/rehabilitation.

I am proud to be a member of the Sports Therapy Association (STA), holding full insurance with Graybrook Hallam, along with Emergency First Aid at Work certification and an Enhanced DBS.
